Clay at the heart of it all

The raw clay may not look that different but the results are ! All of the ceramics in the images are by the artist unless noted.

PORCELAIN: The softest to throw with high plasticity and finest white. Porcelain is a high fire clay and is the strongest ceramic after firing, withstanding oven temps, dishwashers and microwaves.

High-fire gas kiln

STONEWARE: Reliable to throw. Additives change texture and color. At medium and high-fire temperatures, the pottery is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe

Mid-range electric kiln

EARTHENWARE: This is low-fire clay. Results are beautiful but are not for drinking or using for dinnerware. These pieces are not microwave, oven or dishwasher safe
